Tennessee Walking Horses grazing at Short Creek Farm in Montevallo, Alabama

Tennessee Walking Horses, Raised Right

Gentle, naturally gaited horses from Montevallo, Alabama, bred here since 1989.

Welcome to Short Creek Farm

Quality over quantity

We’ve been breeding Tennessee Walking Horses since 1989. We raise only a few each year, and we raise them well. Every broodmare has to earn her place on disposition, gait and conformation. Every foal is handled from day one, so it grows up calm, easy to catch and ready to learn. Our colts usually sell before they hit the ground.

Our Stallion

The Crimson Blues (“Sunny”) is a 16-hand homozygous red roan with an all-natural gait and a disposition that makes him the first horse to the gate.
